Miyonna — known as Mimi B. — has carried music in her spirit since she was five years old. Her first stage was the church pews, where she learned how to pour emotion into every note. Though several labels showed interest in her early on, Mimi B. stayed independent, trusting her own timing and her own lane. After attending Shaw University for freshman year, she came back home and continued performing — from heartfelt gospel sets at funerals and church programs to soulful covers that reminded people why they love music in the first place.

She later joined a singing group that toured throughout Florida and Atlanta, sharpening her stage presence and learning how to connect with different audiences. When she returned home again, she started collaborating with local male rap artists, lending her tone to hooks and features that showcased her versatility. She also held down performances in nightclubs until becoming a new mother, which led to a nine-year pause from music as she prioritized her family and obtaining her bachelor's degree in IT.

Mimi B. found her way back to her gift by becoming the lead singer of a GoGo band. That season reignited everything — her pen, her voice, her confidence. She wrote, she composed, and she connected with crowds all over again. But she also realized her love for music reached far beyond GoGo. She wanted to create songs that felt human, relatable, and honest.

By 2024, Mimi B. began stepping into her full artistry. She modeled on the runway at New York Fashion Week, launched her own podcast, and continued expanding her creative presence.
